With grapes sourced from the Pemberton region of Western Australia, the 2008 Truffle Hill Shiraz Cabernet Merlot is deep red with crimson hues in colour, displaying ripe spiced plum and juicy blackcurrant fruit on the nose, that leads onto a palate of blackcurrant and spicy plum with cinnamon and crushed vanilla bean. The palate is extremely rich and generous, with supple tannins and a long savoury finish.

| The Story: Truffle Hill wines was established in 1997 in the Pemberton region of Western Australia by a small group of investors who have successfully achieved their vision of producing fine wines and black truffles, with the winemaking under the care of the very talented Mark Aitken whos notes read: Made from selected parcels of ultra premium quality fruit, harvested at optimum ripeness these batches then underwent 18 months maturation in one, two and three year old French and American oak with some portions tank fermented on staves. |
