Tinpot Hut 2009 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc |
|
| The Story: |
| Winemaker Fiona Turner sourced grapes for the Tinpot Hut 2009 Sauvignon Blanc from selected vineyards in the Blind River sub-region of the Awatere Valley and the rich soils of the Wairau Valley, Marlborough. From this comes a powerful fruit driven wine with aromas reminiscent of blackcurrants and gooseberry, with refreshing notes of freshly crushed green herb. Leading onto a palate that is pleasingly rich and powerful with racy, tangy, well balanced acidity that offers plenty of zip and leads to a crisp lingering finish. A wine that will have you stepping out. Gold at the Varietal Classes NZ Sauvignon Blanc. Interestingly, both the gold medal winners have been here before… Tinpot Hut, incredibly in each of the past three years. |

Windowrie 2008 Pig In The House Organic Cabernet Sauvignon |
|
| The Story: |
| This Organic wine, deep brick red in colour, from a 4 star James Halliday Wine Companion 2011 winery in Cowra, is crafted by the O'Dea family, early pioneers of the Cowra region. With aromas of berries, fruit and dusty oak abound. Delicate flavours of wild fruit and earth are well balanced with firm tannins. A wine with great structure, complexity and length that lingers on. Pig In The House "Another winery turning out a top drop". MCV Green Drinking MS King. Jason O'Dea said: "Growing Organically gives a true reflection of what can be done in this climate and soil, what a Cabernet tastes like from this bit of dirt in this bit of the world". J Newborn Aust Certified Organic Magazine 2009.
