From a 5 star James Halliday rated winery 2012. Made by Nugan Estate winemaker Darren Owers, the 2009 Talinga Park Cabernet Merlot is deep crimson in colour with youthful purple hues. Fresh berry aromas on the nose are balanced with mint and spice on the palate. It is a medium bodied wine that showcases the ripe flavours of the Cabernet Sauvignon with the soft smooth Merlot. On the palate ripe berry fruit and with a touch of mint abound.

| The Story: The 2009 vintage was characterised by warm and dry conditions with little rainfall throughout the growing season. These conditions assisted in lower yields resulting in wines with excellent colour and fruit concentration. After picking, the grapes were crushed, yeasted and pumped over in traditional style to avoid the extraction of bitter tannins. The wine was then matured with American and French oak. |
