From a 5 star James Halliday rated winery 2012. Made by Nugan Estate winemaker Darren Owers, the 2009 Cookoothama Darlington Point Shiraz is a Top Silver and rated 91 points. Deep crimson in colour with purple hues and complex aromas of blood plum entwined with dark chocolate leather and vanillin. It is full bodied with silky tannins and powerful fruit concentration and a very well structured palate of juicy plum, and blackberry with black pepper notes and well integrated oak.

| The Story: The hands and tones of the Cookoothama label represent the people who have lived and cultivated the land spread along the banks of the Murrumbidgee River over the ages. As well as the home of premium wine grapes, Cookoothama is also the home to a large plantation of Olive trees. The property is protected from rainfall variation by a fully integrated irrigation system including bores and licenses to draw water from the Murrumbidgee River flowing along the Southern boundary of the property. |
