Winemaker Richard Buller says, "As with recent releases of the Beverford Chardonnay, the 2009 vintage shows some oak influence supporting the generous fruit flavours that are typical of Chardonnay. From a 5 star James Halliday rated winery 2012. Made by Nugan Estate winemaker Darren Owers, the 2009 Cookoothama Darlington Point Chardonnay is sourced from the Cookoothama vineyard on the banks of the Murrumbidgee river. It is pale straw with youthful greenish hues, with lifted aromas of ripe peach, nectarine and cantaloupe with mixed spice and toasty notes. The palate has complex flavours of ripe peaches and nectarine, biscuit and yeasty notes with mineral acidity finishing crisp and smooth with savoury notes.

From a James Halliday 4.5 Star rated winery 2012. This youthfull Chardonnay was produced from premium South Australian grapes to yield a wine with great drink ability, and that it does! Vibrant pale green, with aromas of white peach, pawpaw. Displaying subtle citrus fruit of lime, grapefruit and hints of rockmelon on the palate. Brilliant!

This is a cracker of a Chardonnay with stone fruit characters on the nose that flow through to the palate. It has great length of flavour with honey nuances and crisp acidity that says the wine is drinking beautifully now. As JH says: "an estate grown wine from Hoggs Coonawarra vineyard, tight, long and intense citrus and nectarine fruit doing the talking; still very youthful". We think so to!
