From a James Halliday 5 star rated winery 2012. The old saying of "good wines are made in the vineyard" is probably truer of Cabernet than any other grape variety. Cabernet grapes need to be fully ripened to produce the depth and flavours that this variety is capable of. Beverford 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from vineyards that did just that. Fantastic drinking!

| The Story: The Buller family is well known and highly respected in North East Victoria, and Beverford is the location of their second winery established in 1952. The Beverford 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep crimson and a bouquet of sweet blacberry and cherry. The palate has flavours of blackberry and cherry overlaid with characteristic Cabernet herbaceous notes. On the middle palate it's smooth and velvety, with a touch of mocha and sweet oak, with fruit flavours returning on the finish. Wonderfull. |
