From a 5 Star rated James Halliday Winery 2012. The Brokenwood 2011 Savvy is from the Orange region in NSW, one of Australian finest cool climate regions. Pale with green tints in colour, with aromas of fresh tropical fruit, lychee, gooseberry, and a touch of "talcum" typical of Sauvignon Blanc. The palate has excellent fruit weight, lychee and tropical flavours with passionfruit and a zesty clean crisp long finish, fantastic stuff! |

| The Story: Established in 1970, from the three founding partners, Brokenwood has grown to a large and successful partnership (or merry band) of like minded souls, sharing the love of good wine. Rob Crawford established the Forest Edge Vineyard in 1988, making it one the oldest vineyards there, with 2011 being the 12th vintage Brokenwood has taken from Forest Edge fruit. Such was the high quality of the 2011 vintage, that this is only their 4th Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc. |
